If you don't mind would you mind telling us what you do for work?
I am a Production planner. I receive sales orders and plan them into the workshop/assembly area and monitor progress through to ensure on time delivery.
When and why did you start running?
I ran in the school cross country team and then started again because I knew I could and am not much good at anything else. It keeps me fit.
What is your favourite training session?
Hills (Thursday night).
What/why is your favourite place to run?
Round the Wrekin doing trail runs.You cannot beat running in the woods and on the trails.
What/why is your favourite / best race? Hard one this, I don’t have a real favourite but I love cross country running races, especially the National XC.
What brand of trainers do you wear?
Hoka trainers for road and Salamon Speedcroos for off road
What is your favourite piece of running equipment / kit?
At my age its gloves if they are classed as equipment - hands go cold very easy
What is your favourite food after you have run?
Usually a Chocolate Milk Shake.
How long have you been a member of Wrekin Road Runners?
Approximately 11 years
What does it mean to you being a member of club?
I get great satisfaction in knowing that you are with like minded people no matter what their personnel abilities are.We all love running.
What is the best running related advice that you have ever been given?
Love the hills as they make you stronger, when you hit the flat you feel like your flying then
What race that you haven't yet done is on your 'must do list'?
After completing the London Marathon a few years ago there isn't one. I just like to tick off the ones i haven't done yet
Who inspires you from the world of running/sport and why?
Paula Radcliffe has always been someone i admire but Eliot Kipchoge of recent times is an inspiration
What do your family think about your running / cycling?
My wife thinks that I spend too much time training (running, cycling and swimming) but to be good you have to be consistent and dedicated with your training.
Do you ever listen to music when running?
I have never done this. I like to run free so that I can hear everybody and everything around me.
