London Marathon

We have been advised that London Marathon are introducing a new ratio of places for affiliated running clubs. For the current year, club guaranteed entries are:

• 40-189 members = 1 place

As an affiliated running club we are therefore due to receive confirmation of 1 place in late November.

Club Rules

To be eligible to participate in the club draw for the Wrekin Road Runners "guaranteed place" in the London Marathon:

• Membership Requirement: You should be a fully paid-up first claim member of WRR by the end of April in the year of the draw.
• Marathon Rejection Proof: You must possess an official rejection email from the current year’s London Marathon main ballot.
• Eligibility Criteria: Club members who have received a club guaranteed place in the London Marathon in the last five years are not eligible to apply. For instance, members who received a place from 2022 onwards cannot apply for the 2027 entry.
• Race Attire: If you are chosen, you are required to wear the official club kit during the race.
• Announcement: The name of the runner awarded the place will be announced on the WRR website.
• Entry Fee:  The ballot only guarantees the offer of entering the London Marathon.  The successful member is responsible for the payment of their own entry fee and all other associated costs. 

Details of the date and process for the club draw will be sent to members in early September
