London Landmarks Half Marathon Race report 7/4/2024 aka Sheila and Sue Road Trip.
Myself and Sue Goodall took part in the LLHM last Sunday for the 2nd time. We travelled down the night before to allow plenty of time for carbohydrate fuelling as in a meal at the Italian round the corner. The day of the race dawned and we were filled with nervous anticipation and in my case also porridge, banana and granola. The weather was superb, sunny with a cooling breeze. The day did not disappoint with crowds of cheering supporters out in force. Plenty of music and entertainers all day and of course all of the famous landmarks in full view. So many different charities were represented, it actually felt quite humbling to be part of it. I was proud to be there on behalf of Dementia UK. To the race itself- a great route but one of us definitely set off too quickly (me). No matter as I was encouraged and motivated all the way to the finish line by the marvellous Sue Goodall. LLHM is a fabulous event which I would thoroughly recommend. In summary, an amazing day, brilliant atmosphere and loads of support. Never again!! I have pre-registered for next year just in case I change my mind 😊🏃♀️🏅 |
