Race report - Brighton Marathon (7/4/24)
Elevation - 800ft Brighton is the biggest race that I have done so far with about 17.000 runners spread over 9 starting waves . A new course for 2024 without the power station/ industrial estate section has been replaced with a (very ,very long 😫) loop around Hove . The crowds around the whole route were huge and offered plenty of encouragement . The weather was less encouraging with heat and gale force winds from start to finish 😃Certainly a great well organised Marathon with medal , t-shirt and 500ml bottle of water at the finish but sadly no goodie bag . One thing I found at about 20 miles was pain in both hips 🤔 apparently Brighton's roads have a definite camber to them ....and lots of potholes ! |
