2026 Wrekin Road Runners - Adult Couch to 5K
Sunday 1st March - April 26th (9 weeks course)
The programme is aimed at all running abilities from beginners with no running experience, those who haven’t done any for a while, to those who are maybe returning from injury – the C25K programme will work for you all.
The programme requires 3 run sessions per week – the one on Sunday morning is with us, the other 2 runs are on your own at a time of your choosing per week. We encourage you all to keep a whatsapp or similar going to encourage each other during your weekly runs.
No special kit is required, just comfortable t-shirt/long-sleeved shirt, and shorts or leggings, and some sports shoes.
The programme very gradually progresses you from jog/walking to the goal of running a full 5K (3.1 miles), with a parkrun hopefully to complete your journey.
This structured approach is tried and trusted by many sport coaches and health organisations including the NHS and has proven to work. So don’t be daunted by thoughts of not being good/fast/fit enough, we at the Wrekin Road Runners all started the same way , but some of us just kept on going.
