How to find us
Event Location: Apley Estate, Cheswardine Lane, Norton, Shifnal TF11 9EQ
Please allow plenty of time for your arrival
If approaching from Bridgnorth, pass the Hundred House Hotel and take the next road on the left. From Telford look for the road on the right (Cheswardine Lane) just before the Hundred House Hotel. This will be the only entrance and exit route for the event.
Follow the signs & marshals who will direct you to the parking area.
Parking
There is plenty of car parking available on the field close to the start, but please take care and have consideration for the land owner, residents and other drivers. The car park opens at 8:00am. Access to the car park will be closed between 10:25 and 10:55 whilst the races are started.
Registration opens at 8.30am. (Closes 10:15)
It is your individual choice if you decide to wear a face mask whilst inside the registration tent, though we think it would be respectful to your fellow runners and event staff if you could.
You will be supplied a race number which includes a timing chip. Please fill out the safety information on the reverse of the number before attaching to the front of your torso. Numbers must be on the front and not obscured in any way. Pens and safety pins will be available when you collect your number.
T-Shirts
For those that registered before 1 September your T-Shirt will already be inside your race pack. For athletes that registered after the 1 September you will be offered a T-shirt, size choices will be limited and available on a first come - first served basis. If you are not happy with the size of your T-Shirt please speak to an official after you have completed your race, if we have others sizes remaining at that point we will be happy to exchange.
General Info
There are two water stations providing water and High5 nutritional sports drinks along the course. First water station is at 2 1/4 miles from the start and the second is just after the finish split (for 21K runners). Water will not be handed to you at the water points, it will have been set out on tables for you to collect. All finishers will also receive a bottle of Wenlock Water in your goody bag.
There are marshals at regular points throughout the course, and plenty of signs to guide you round. If there is a change in direction there will either be a marshal or an arrow/tape to guide you, don't turn off your path unless it's clear you should be doing so.
Should you find yourself unable to continue please make your way to the nearest marshal point for assistance. If you are unable to get to the marshal point please let another runner know so they can alert the nearest marshal to your location. There are tail runners on all three distances as well so if you run into difficulties please let them know.
We advise the wearing of trail shoes for all distances, though this is personal choice. Spikes should not be worn at this event.
Toilets are located by the start / finish area but there are no changing facilities. Please sanitise before and after using these facilities.
A mobile catering unit from Apley Farm Shop will be available throughout the event for you to purchase hot snacks and drinks.
As this is active farmland please do not drop ANY litter (bottles, gel wrappers etc) whilst you are out on the course, Athletes found littering will be removed from the results. Recycling points will be available around the race village, and you will be able to leave rubbish at the water point and with the marshals.
Well behaved dogs are permitted onsite with supporters, though must be kept on a short lead and must not enter the race course at any time. There will be cattle close to many parts of the route.
Medals, water, cake and other items will all be inside the goody bags which will be positioned for you to collect when you have finished the race. Please collect your bag and vacate the finish area as soon as possible.
We will not gather runners for prize giving, but will announce prizes which can be collected as the race timer confirms positions for each category.
We will have numerous photographers around the site to capture your running prowess, don't forget to smile! Some photographers may ask a small fee to download their images but you will find most on our facebook page in the days after the event.
Due to the nature of the location and accessibility the distances vary slightly from 5k, 10k and 21k.
Full terms and conditions of entry are here.
Finally we would like to thank you for supporting this event and remind you that we are a volunteer led non-profit event with all funds raised going to Stockton Church, and also a donation to the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. Donation amounts are confirmed and publicised once the event accounts are completed.
Have a great run!
